NEAR INFRARED (NIR) TREATMENT

NIR is a non-invasive laser treatment designed to stimulate collagen production and tighten lax skin, and is very effective when used to treat the signs of ageing on the lower face, jawline and neck, usually in conjunction with Laser Lift. It can also be used on the body, such as the stomach, cellulite areas, backs of arms and inner thighs, but is not suitable for treatment around the eyes or forehead, or for sensitive skin. Light near the infrared spectrum is used to briefly elevate the temperature of the skin, deeply penetrating it. This produces microscopic thermal injury to the tissues in the dermis, which contracts existing elastin fibres, and stimulates the formation of new, thicker, uniformly aligned collagen. Typically, a course of six treatments is recommended, at fortnightly intervals. Thereafter a programme of one treatment every four months will maintain the benefits. There may be some variation in your prescribed treatment plan, depending on the severity of your condition....

EMSELLA in the press

Poor pelvic floor strength and urinary incontinence are as common as they’re embarrassing. It is a condition which can affect us at any age or stage of life. It is a myth that only women who have given birth suffer from this, though certainly it helps! Chronic constipation can also take its toll. Most of us just put up with it and resign ourselves to a life of Tena Ladies and being careful when we laugh/cough/sneeze/run/jump/just about anything. Pelvic floor dysfunction is when we’re unable to correctly relax and coordinate the muscles in our pelvic floors to pee or to have a bowel movement and can also be the source of pain during sex. Although we use humour to mask our embarrassment, it really is no joke. It can severely affect the quality of our lives and limit the activities we undertake. It won’t kill us, but it is certainly lifestyle-limiting. Kegel (pelvic floor) exercises are recommended to maintain strength and condition in the pelvic area but by the time trouble strikes, it’s...

Does going to the toilet ruin your sleep?

There is a misconception that our pelvic floor is fine when we are not suffering from urine leakage. However, one sign that your pelvic floor is weakening is if you have to go to the bathroom at night most nights. Another sign is that the flow is weak at night, which can be frustrating when you're waiting to get back into bed as soon as possible. Frequent sleep disturbances have profound health consequences Unfortunately, our pelvic floor is destined to deteriorate with age if we don't do something about it. Therefore, it is a good idea to investigate these symptoms even before a leak occurs. Sleep disturbances often don't just make us tired and grumpy: they disrupt stress pathways, slowly make our bodies more inflamed and vulnerable to chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and Alzheimer's, and affect our concentration, mood, and overall abilities. to work.
